Since starting this subject I've realised how unique metallics are... they are a colour, but require more than just this to be distinguishable. They require the proper texture, surface and finish. Otherwise silver is just grey, and gold is just an ugly dark yellow. It's amazing how the finish of the material that colour is applied to can make so much difference. I know I'd prefer silver over grey any day! Well maybe not any day... (All images from Flickr)
